The Rabobank Agribusiness Team is made up of more than 250 employees working from 27 offices across New Zealand.

Backed by our global team of research analysts, the team has extensive knowledge across New Zealand’s key agricultural sectors including dairy, sheep, beef, arable, horticulture and viticulture. The team also has a strong understanding of the sustainability challenges facing New Zealand farmers and works closely with our clients to improve the agronomic, environmental, social and workplace performance of their businesses.

Bruce Weir
General Manager Country Banking

Bruce is General Manager of Country Banking. He leads a team of 280 banking specialists around the country, who are passionate about the food and agri sector. Bruce grew up on a sheep and beef farm in Wairoa, Northern Hawkes Bay. His banking career began in 2000 when he joined Rabobank as a Finance Officer and transitioned through various customer-focused and leadership roles before his appointment as General Manager Country Banking in 2019.

Bruce holds a Diploma in Agriculture and a Bachelor of Applied Science from Massey University. He has outside interests in both dairy farming and horticulture, which adds to his wealth of experience working in and alongside rural communities.

Darren Suttie
Head of Major Agribusiness Clients (MAC)

Darren leads our Major Agribusiness Clients (MAC) division which manages relationships with the bank’s larger agribusiness clients. This includes pre-farm gate operators across a diverse range of farming sectors as well as post-farm gate operators specialising in packhouses, post-harvest, cool storage, food manufacturing, growing, food distribution and exporting.

Darren began with Rabobank in 2008 as Manager, Country Banking Credit before taking up a role leading the NZ Wholesale Banking business in 2015. He moved into his current role with MAC team in 2020.

Darren is a career banker and, prior to joining Rabobank, he worked for HSBC & ASB in New Zealand. He also held various credit executive roles while he was living in London, with both Bank of America (Institutional Banking) and JP Morgan Chase (Mergers & Acquisitions).

Upper North Island

Rua Crofskey

Rua Crofskey
Upper North Island Regional Manager

Rua was appointed Upper North Island Regional Manager in November 2023. He has had a long and successful Agri Banking career, being a values-based leader and always leading with his team and clients front of mind.

Rua joined Rabobank in 2010 as an Account Manager and quickly transitioned to become the Lower North Island Regional Manager, a position he had held for the past 13 years prior to taking up his current role.

Andrew Allan
Area Manager | Bay of Plenty / Gisborne

Andrew joined Rabobank in 2006 after previously working in the sheep and beef and horticulture sectors. Based in his home town of Gisborne, Andrew and his team help clients in the East Coast area, achieve their farming goals and enjoy supporting their local rural community. Outside of work, Andrew and wife Georgina, with sons Harry and George and daughter Meg, can be found as a family enjoying the east Coast beaches, lakes and golf courses.

Shay Moon
Lower North Island Regional Manager

Shay was brought up in Central Otago and now resides in Taranaki with his wife Alice and two young children. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago and a Post Graduate Diploma in Agribusiness from Massey University. He has worked in banking for more than 10 years throughout the Lower North Island.

Brian Henderson
Area Manager | Feilding / Masterton and Havelock North

Brian grew up on the family sheep and beef farm near Marton. He graduated from Lincoln University with an Agriculture Degree and joined the Rabobank Manawatu/Wairarapa team in 2021. He enjoys supporting rural communities and helping farmers to grow their business.

Chris Barron
Area Manager | Taranaki

Chris grew up on a dairy farm in coastal Taranaki and now lives on the same property with his wife Rebecca and their three children. He joined Rabobank in July 2024 following several years working for Fonterra in farming operations and nutrient management. Prior to this, he worked in rural banking for 12 years and also spent several seasons sharemilking. Chris holds an Agricultural Degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Studies from Massey University. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time on the farm with his family and stays active by participating in several sports including golf, touch, multisport and coaching rugby.

Micheal Dunn
Regional Manager | South Island

Growing up in North Canterbury, Mike began his banking career in 2002 with Rabobank in Invercargill. He has been in various roles at Rabobank and is now the South Island Regional Manager leading a team of 80 staff across 10 offices in the South island. Mike feels privileged to be able to support his team and their customers achieve their goals and aspirations. He feels proud to live in a country where the primary industry sector and innovation is supported leading to positive outcomes for our communities. In his spare time he likes getting outdoors to fish, run, row or mountain bike.

Jacqueline Manson
Area Manager | Otago

Jacq grew up on a sheep and beef farm in West Otago. She graduated from Lincoln in 2004 with an Ag degree and first joined Rabobank in 2005. She has since been involved in primary industry across NZ, Australia and the UK before settling back in Otago amongst an experienced team of Agribusiness Managers supporting farmers and rural communities to build strong, enduring businesses.

Nicki McConnell
Area Manager | Mid South Canterbury

Growing up on a farm in the Waikato, Nicki attended Massey University completing a Bachelor Applied Science in Rural Valuation and Agriculture. She has spent the past twenty years in various banking roles (predominantly in Agriculture) and locations including SE Queensland, Australia. Nicki joined Rabobank 8 years ago and currently leads a team of Agribusiness Managers in Mid & South Canterbury. Nicki feels privileged to be a part of this outstanding team who operate in a diverse region supporting an array of farming sectors and excellent businesses. She resides in South Canterbury with her family.

Nick Martin
Area Manager | Canterbury & Tasman

Since attending Lincoln University and four years of professional rugby in Europe, Nick has worked in the agriculture sector in Canterbury for 20 years – more than 16 of those years has been in rural banking. Working with the most experienced team in the Canterbury-Tasman area, he looks forward to supporting clients by sharing their combined wealth of on-farm agribusiness knowledge. Nick and his family live on a lifestyle block in North Canterbury. Outside of work he keeps his hand in coaching rugby and can be found exploring the back country on a mountain bike or with a rifle.

Michael McHutchon
Area Manager | Southland

Michael joined Rabobank in 2016 after a rugby injury interrupted his career in farming. He grew up on a sheep and beef farm in West Otago and continues to live on the farm alongside his wife and two kids. Michael is passionate about the agricultural industry and enjoys supporting new and existing clients to grow their agribusiness operations.
